SAUCONY XODUS ISO 2 – SHOE REVIEW
The Saucony Xodus ISO 2 is Saucony’s second version of the premium trail running shoe built for the everyday trail runner. The latest version comes with enough grip and cushioning for those long days on tough technical trails.
Some of the features we like about the new Saucony Xodus ISO 2:
Quality Upper and Inner Materials – Saucony’s ISOFIT upper locks down the midfoot comfortably and conforms nicely to the midfoot while you run. The Inner material feels soft and cushioned around the rear foot and gives this shoe an amazing first feel right out of the box.
Heel Support Frame – The Xodus ISO 2 has a rigid support frame around the heel that provides stability and comfort around the rear foot. This solid support frame around the heel is also a big benefit to runners who use insoles or orthotics.
Stability – Although a neutral shoe, we found the Xodus ISO 2 provides a good amount of support for neutral to mild pronators.
Cushioning – The Xodus ISO 2 comes with Saucony’s Everun topsole cushioning that provides lasting comfort on the trails but not so much so that you feel disconnected from the surface.
Outsole – Similar to the Saucony Peregrine series trail shoe, the Xodus ISO 2 comes with the super grippy PWRTRAC outsole that provides superb grip in all seasons and weather.
Overall we highly rate the Saucony Xodus ISO 2 for both newbies and the most seasoned of trail runners. If you have tried the Peregrine but found you needed some more comfort and support around the upper of the midfoot then we highly recommend you give this shoe a try. This is the perfect go to, everyday trail shoe.
